WAUWATOSA, WISCONSIN: SmartMeasurement, an international flow meter engineering and manufacturing company headquartered in Wauwatosa, has introduced new, maintenance-free flow meters for high particle count applications.
Its new ultrasonic flow meter, the ALSONIC-DSP, is a clamp-on flow meter using patented Fine Time measurement technology. This meter uses cross-correlation to cancel out noise, giving it the capability to measure raw sewage, sludge, slurry, and other high-particle count multiphase fluids containing up to 30% solids or gas bubbles.
SmartMeasurement also has a line of magnetic flow meters designed to measure high particle count flow. The magnetic flow meters can be used to measure corrosive fluids, wastewater, and more.
Both the magnetic flow meters and the ultrasonic flow meters are maintenance-free; there are no mechanical moving parts, reducing wear and tear, eliminating the need for mechanical maintenance, and prolonging the lifespan of the meters.
Riaz Danish, the President and CEO of SmartMeasurement, commented on how these meters are helping to address the needs of the market: “Flow meters are a crucial component for industries and government operations of all kinds, ranging from the paper and pulp industry to monitoring municipal wastewater systems,” said Mr. Danish. “By introducing both ultrasonic and magnetic high particle count meters onto the market, we’ve given businesses the ability to more accurately monitor flow. Our engineers designed these meters to require as little maintenance as possible, reducing the possibility of error, lowering the overhead costs of businesses who use our meters, and increasing the lifespan of our meters.”
Headquartered in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, SmartMeasurement has manufacturing operations in the U.S. and China, with distributors located throughout the world. It specializes in designing and manufacturing flow meters and pressure transmitters. It has a number of liquid, gas, and steam flow meters available, including Coriolis flow meters, energy flow meters, differential pressure flow meters, magnetic flow meters, mass flow meters, ultrasonic flow meters, open channel flow meters, variable area flow meters, vortex flow meters, and more.
